Lesson Introduction:
1. Begin the lesson by discussing the meaning of gratitude with your children. Define gratitude as being thankful or appreciative of something or someone. The book does a great job of teaching gratitude and how to find it in all that we do.
2. Ask your children to share examples of things they are grateful for. Encourage a whole family discussion to generate ideas.
Activity
1. "Gratitude Globe" will visually represent things the children/family are thankful for.
2. Provide each child with a construction paper printable of the globe template.
3. Use markers to guide your children through the process of writing or drawing things they are grateful for on the globe.
4. Encourage students to decorate their gratitude globe with stickers or additional drawings to make it more colorful and meaningful.
